World famous golf course designer Tom Weiskopf approached the Snake River Sporting Club the way his boutique firm has approached creating some of the finest courses in Scotland, South Africa, and the Caribbean.   • Hole 1

    This beautiful medium length par 4 is located on a bench above ancient terraces carved by the Snake River. Offering excellent views of the lush riparian corridor from the tee, players will navigate a dramatic Sagebrush-lined fairway which doglegs to the right and culminates in a wide open green.

  • Hole 2

    The shortest par 4 on the golf course drops some 50 feet in elevation from tee to green and offers the club’s largest and most contoured green. Big hitters can expect scores ranging from eagle to double-bogey while listening for the distinctive bugles of competing bull elk on Fall evenings.

  • Hole 3

    Tall evergreens frame both sides of the fairway on this long, bunker-free, straightaway par 4. Players will avoid a small stream running down the right side of the fairway and past the green. Downy Woodpeckers are frequently seen and heard in the standing dead trees adjacent the fairway.

  • Hole 4

    Tucked in the furthest South corner of the property this short par 3 feels like a walk in the woods. Players may catch a glimpse of the various species of wildlife which frequent the small waterway meandering between the tees and the green. This elegant little par 3 is sure to be memorable.

  • Hole 5

    The difficult and short green on this dogleg right par 4 is nestled in a stand of evergreen trees. While navigating the large bunker guarding the left side of the green, watch for several of the elusive forest-dwelling birds of prey that frequent the skies over this pristine bluegrass fairway.

  • Hole 6

    On this long par 3, a narrow green is framed by bunkers on both sides. Players looking to hit the green should expect a challenging tee shot due to the smaller sized green. On certain occasions the chatter of native Red Squirrels in the adjacent woodlands adds to the complexity of this fun hole.

  • Hole 7

    One of the best greens on the course, players will find this long par 5 to be a total risk- reward hole. A large bunker protects the right side of the fairway from the tee. Second shots must negotiate a stunning cross bunker. Nevertheless, this par 5 may be the most birdied hole on the course.

  • Hole 8

    This stunning straightaway par 4 is almost certainly the most difficult hole on the golf course. Players must navigate a low hidden hazard which prohibits the use of a driver, leaving the approach shot at a longer distance. Keen eyes might spot the occasional Osprey fishing through the trees.

  • Hole 9

    A beautiful spring-fed stream guards the right side of this short, winding par 5 and crosses the fairway about 350 yards from the back tee. The green is guarded by a front & center bunker. Players will appreciate the waterfall that flows from behind this green at the base of Martin Creek.

  • Hole 10

    Players looking for a challenge will appreciate this long dogleg left par 4. Bunkers protect both sides of the tee shot, while the approach shot is to a large green flanked by a bunker on the left. Raptors such as red-tailed hawks are often seen riding thermal air currents from the hillside.

  • Hole 11

    Large bunkers and a small lake frame the left side of the course’s longest par 5. Player’s will navigate a stream which crosses the fairway and continues along the right side of the approach. The stunning 11th hole green boasts a false front and a great deal of undulation to sharpen your game.

  • Hole 12

    This breathtaking par 3 is one of the most beautiful places on the golf course. The bridge to Hole 12 takes players through mature cottonwoods along the banks of the beautiful Beaver Pond. Surrounded by bunkers, a gorgeous stream meanders the right side of the hole, well beyond the green.

  • Hole 13

    Acquainted players recognize this exceptional dogleg right par 4 as home to a prominent Bald Eagle’s nest that rests in the small grove of Cottonwood trees just right of the green. Players will want to focus their approach on finding and hitting the proper tier of this green’s three unique zones.

  • Hole 14

    The iconic Snake River sits well to the right of this long, slight dogleg right par 4. A large fairway bunker protects the right side of the tee shot landing area, while the green is guarded by large, deep bunkers on both sides. A bump and run may be the play on this pristine, long rolling green.

  • Hole 15

    This medium-length par 3 is void of bunkers. It’s stacked sod wall creates an element of difficulty if the green is not hit. The green overlooks the Snake River, providing a views of the canyon from the fairway. Discerning players will find this to be among the most picturesque holes on the course.

  • Hole 16

    The sound of falling water can help players to sink a birdie putt on this medium length par 4. The pond on the right side of the green culminates in a focal point at the adjacent Martin Creek waterfall. The green is slightly lower than the rest of the hole and protected by a bunker to the right.

  • Hole 17

    Only accurate tee shots will find the sloped fairway between the wetland left and the bunker right on this long, dogleg left par 4. Emergent wetlands, like those flanking this hole are dominated by sedges, grasses and horsetails. Three bunkers guard the right side of a heavily-contoured green.

  • Hole 18

    Enjoy a dramatic view of the canyon as you play this show-stopping par 5. Players will be tested with a tee shot over a large bunker to a semi-blind landing area. Martin Creek gently cascades over rock shelves and structures behind this green providing habitat for aquatic insects and native fish.

Greg Hoyt

PGA HEAD GOLF PROFESSIONAL

Greg Hoyt, PGA Director of Golf at Snake River Sporting Club, brings a lifelong passion for the game and a strong commitment to hospitality. Growing up near Lake Placid, New York, Greg discovered golf on his grandfather’s farm, later playing varsity in eighth grade and serving as team captain. He attended Campbell University, earning a business degree and completing the PGA Golf Management Program before becoming a Class A Professional in 2011.

Before relocating to Jackson Hole in 2014, Greg spent four years at Little River Golf & Resort in Pinehurst, North Carolina. There, he progressed from a PGA intern to First Assistant Golf Professional, and later took on a leadership role in sales and marketing.

Greg joined the SRSC golf operations team in 2014 and has led the department since 2018. Today, he oversees all golf operations, the retail shop, and the club’s winter outdoor amenities, ensuring a seamless and elevated member experience. When he is not on the course, Greg enjoys spending time outdoors.

Jackson Lambert, PGA

TEACHING PROFESSIONAL

Jackson’s love for golf began at just two years old and was fueled by growing up in a family of avid golfers in Saline, Michigan. After competing in Michigan Junior PGA events and serving as captain of his high school golf team, he attended Ferris State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business and completed the requirements for Class A PGA Membership, officially becoming a PGA Member in 2017. Drawn to Jackson Hole by his passion for skiing and the outdoors, Jackson began his local golf career as a PGA Intern at Teton Pines in 2014 before joining Snake River Sporting Club in 2017. Promoted from Assistant Golf Professional to Teaching Professional, he is passionate about helping golfers improve by tailoring instruction to each individual player. When he’s not on the course, Jackson enjoys rafting, climbing, biking, walking his dog, and taking advantage of everything the mountain lifestyle has to offer
